This role supports construction projects by reviewing documentation, assisting with inspections, and verifying the accuracy of project records. As a Technical Assistant, you will perform the following duties:

  • Documentation Review: Check project records, work units, and materials for accuracy and compliance
  • Cost Verification: Audit quantities and computed costs to substantiate payments and project reports
  • Field Inspection: Assist with inspections of construction, permit, and utility work on roads and bridges
  • Material Tracking: Collect delivery forms and certifications; conduct basic materials testing
  • Project Support: Help complete progress payments and verify elevations, grades, and material placement
  • Audit Assistance: Review audit findings with staff and confirm adherence to department standards
Work Schedule and Additional Information
  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Vendor controlled work schedule, hours may vary.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time/seasonally adhoc, up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Oil City. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements
  • Graduation from high school; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements
  • This particular position also requires possession of a Class C non-commercial driver's license.
