Title: Technical ArchitectLocation: Remote/Plano, TXType : ContractJob Description:We are seeking an experienced and visionary Technical Architect with deep expertise in Cosmos DB and RESTful API design and development. In this role, you will be responsible for designing scalable, secure, and high-performance backend architectures that power enterprise-grade applications. You will guide development teams, establish best practices, and ensure seamless data and service integration across platforms.
Key Responsibilities- Design and architect end-to-end backend solutions using Cosmos DB, REST APIs, and cloud-native services (preferably Azure).
- Lead architecture reviews, create technical specifications, and contribute to solution blueprints and integration patterns.
- Define and enforce API standards including versioning, security (OAuth, JWT), rate limiting, and documentation.
- Optimize Cosmos DB for scalability, partitioning strategy, indexing, and performance tuning.
- Collaborate with enterprise architects, product managers, and engineering teams to align technical solutions with business objectives
- Mentor and guide developers in implementing best practices related to database design, API management, and cloud infrastructure.
- Ensure systems are designed with security, reliability, and performance as priorities.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies, tools, and industry trends in distributed systems and NoSQL
Required Skills & Qualifications- 8–12 years of overall software architecture and development experience.
- Strong hands-on expertise in Cosmos DB (partitioning, indexing, consistency models, throughput management)
- RESTful APIs (design, development, documentation, and lifecycle management)o .NET Core / Java / Node.js (any language used to build backend APIs)
- Experience with Azure Cloud Services (Functions, API Management, Event Grid, etc.).
- Deep understanding of microservices architecture, API gateways, and serverless computing.
- Proven ability to lead architecture discussions, conduct code reviews, and mentor development teams.
- Experience in designing for scalability, security, and high availability in cloud environments
