Job summary

Nordstrom is seeking a Technical Designer Intern to join the Technical Design team within Nordstrom Made, reporting to the Senior Technical Designer. The internship runs 10 weeks in Seattle, WA, beginning June 14 and ending August 20, 2027, with housing provided for applicants outside 30 miles from corporate offices.

Hourly pay is $25.00, with eligibility for performance-based incentives; interviews occur in November 2026 and decisions by January 2027.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree with expected graduation 2027 or 2028.
• Excellent organization and time management skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication.
• Strong interpersonal relationships.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook.
• Skilled in Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Exposure to PLM software is preferred.
• Exposure to Browzwear/CLO/Optitex for 3D apparel development is preferred.
• Exposure to 2D pattern software such as Gerber Accumark/Optitex is preferred.
• Demonstrates Customer Focus, Self-Development and Communicates Effectively.

Responsibilities

• Develop clear Tech Packs, measurement worksheets and construction images per design intent.
• Evaluate samples for specifications, quality, and construction.
• Measure samples to ensure accuracy.
• Support fit sessions and the Technical Design team.
• Help meet calendar milestones and due dates.
• Maintain sample organization throughout development to production lifecycle.
• Assist with special projects as directed.
