Job summary

Corewell Health in Troy is seeking a full-time Emergency Center patient care support role. You will assist the patient care team in stocking equipment, obtain vital signs, apply monitors, transport patients, and provide companionship to reduce self-harm risk.

Work schedule is 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., 36 hours weekly, with a Monday-Wednesday orientation and daily shifts. Competitive benefits and a safe, inclusive workplace are offered.

Qualifications

• Completion of Corewell Health EC Student Co-op program, or high school diploma or equivalent.
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support required
• Related patient care experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist the patient care team in stocking and maintaining equipment in the Emergency Room.
• Obtain vital signs and apply monitors.
• Transport EC Service Line patients to testing and to patient care units.
• Provide companionship and observation to patients to limit self-inflicted injury when appropriate.

The emergency Center at Beaumont Troy is a fast paced, high acuity Level 2 trauma center. Seeing over 100,000 patients a year makes it the 3rd busiest in the state.

Scope of work

Assist the patient care team in stocking and maintaining equipment in the Emergency Room, provide patient care such as obtaining vital signs, applying monitors, transporting EC Service Line patients to and from testing and to the patient care units, and in certain circumstances, to provide companionship and observation to patients in order to limit purposeful or non-purposeful self-inflicted injury.

Orientation

This position requires 3 days of corporate orientation. The schedule is Monday-Wednesday, 7am-3:30pm.

• Completion of Corewell Health EC Student Co-op program, or high school diploma or equivalent required


• Related patient care experience preferred
