Job summary

Corewell Health's Troy Emergency Center is seeking a patient-focused nursing assistant to support the infusion unit and provide essential care in a fast-paced setting.

Under RN direction, you will assist with patient care, documentation, and safe transport, with opportunities for observation duties as required. This part-time position supports a day shift schedule in the Troy/Farmington Hills area.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support required.
• Current CNA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides care to the patient according to the plan of care, unit routine and hospital policy under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
• Safely transports patients via wheelchair or stretcher, dispatch services and appropriate documentation of services.
• Provides the services of an Observer for any patient on a patient care unit who requires constant observation, either in person or via remote video monitoring.

About Troy Emergency Center

Staffed by board-certified emergency medicine physicians, the Corewell Emergency Center in Troy offers the same high-quality, comprehensive emergency care you would expect from other Corewell Health locations. The one and only difference is that this center is located right in your neighborhood, not physically connected to a hospital. Close integration and collaboration with Corewell hospitals enables efficient transitions to an inpatient setting if needed.

Scope of work

Provides care to the patient according to the plan of care, unit routine and hospital policy under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Safe transport of patients via wheelchair or stretcher, dispatch services and appropriate documentation of services. Provides the services of an Observer for any patient on a patient care unit who has been assessed to require constant observation, either in person or via remote video monitoring, to maximize his/her safety. Performs general receptionist and clerical duties to facilitate efficient functioning of the nursing unit. Documentation of care provided in the electronic medical record.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Previous hospital or nursing home experience preferred
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support required
• Current CNA certification preferred
