Job summary

Corewell Health in Troy, MI, invites you to join the Pre Post Recovery team at Troy Hospital as a part-time CNA for evening shifts. You will support patient care, assist with transport, and help maintain a safe, efficient unit under RN direction.

Prior hospital or nursing home experience and a current CNA certification are preferred; BLS is required within 30 days of hire. We offer a comprehensive benefits package and a culture focused on patient safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Previous hospital or nursing home experience preferred
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support required within 30 days of hire
• Current CNA certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Provides care to the patient according to the plan of care, unit routine and hospital policy under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
• Safe transport of patients via wheelchair or stretcher, dispatch services and appropriate documentation of services.
• Provides the services of an Observer for any patient on a patient care unit who has been assessed to require constant observation, either in person or via remote video monitoring, to maximize his/her safety.
• Performs general receptionist and clerical duties to facilitate efficient functioning of the nursing unit.
• Documentation of care provided in the electronic medical record.

About the unit

The Pre-op and PACU at Troy Beaumont are a fast-paced critical care unit that specialize in the preparation and recovery of patients who are undergoing a surgical procedure. Our department is comprised of 3 pre-op areas and 3 PACU areas, specializing in both outpatient and inpatient surgeries. Staff who join our units should be teamwork oriented and possess strong critical thinking, organizational, and decision-making skills.

Scope of work

Orientation

This position requires a full week of corporate orientation. The schedule is Monday-Friday, 7am-3:30pm. You will be required to attend the entire week consecutively.
