Job summary

USP seeks a scientific and technical expert with demonstrated experience in active pharmaceutical ingredients, fine chemicals manufacturing, and associated supply chains, combined with strong technical writing capabilities.

This non-laboratory, individual contributor role will apply expertise in pharmaceutical manufacturing and supply chains to evaluate manufacturing processes, assess supply vulnerabilities, analyze technical and market information, and develop practical, evidence-based

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry with industrial API or fine chemical experience.
• Demonstrated scientific and technical writing ability.
• Experience sourcing, evaluating, and communicating technical information.

Responsibilities

• Collect, validate, and analyze chemical, manufacturing, and supply-chain data to identify risks and conclusions.
• Evaluate API and KSM processes, sourcing structures, and cost drivers; perform technoeconomic analyses.
• Review literature and databases to assess manufacturing and technologies.
• Develop evidence-based risk assessments and mitigation options.
• Prepare technical reports, briefing materials, and project documentation.
• Collaborate with chemists, data scientists, and project teams to align with goals.
