Job summary

Versant Media, LLC is seeking a Manager of Technical Accounting & Policy at CNBC Headquarters in Englewood Cliffs, NJ. The role leads complex accounting analyses, develops policies, and ensures U.S. GAAP and SOX compliance across controllership, FP&A and legal teams.

The position requires 4+ years in finance/accounting, CPA preferred, and offers hybrid work with a range of benefits as part of CNBC’s Englewood Cliffs presence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required; CPA preferred.
• Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate and influence across multiple levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Lead the accounting analysis and documentation for complex transactions (business combinations, divestitures, leases, impairments, restructuring).
• Prepare technical accounting memos supporting conclusions under U.S. GAAP with external auditors.
• Provide guidance to Controllership, FP&A, and business units on accounting issues and translate guidance into operations.
• Act as SME for revenue recognition, leases, equity, and long-lived assets accounting.
• Monitor emerging accounting pronouncements and coordinate implementation readiness.
