Job summary

Spire is seeking a Manager of Technical Accounting to elevate the company’s accounting rigor in Washington, with a hybrid work model requiring three days in the office. You will research GAAP guidance, oversee non-routine transactions, and author authoritative memos for executives and non-accounting stakeholders.

You will lead revenue recognition, consolidation, controls, and audits across domestic and international subsidiaries, partnering with Sales, Legal, and Finance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Active CPA license required.
• 6+ years of progressive accounting experience; Big 4 preferred.
• Hands-on ASC 606/842/805/810/718 with memo writing.
• Experience with multi-element revenue arrangements.

Responsibilities

• Research, interpret, and apply US GAAP guidance including ASC 606/842.
• Author technical memos and guidance for complex transactions.
• Lead monthly/quarterly consolidation across entities (domestic and intl).
• Collaborate with Sales, Legal, Finance and external auditors.
