Vets Hired is seeking a Technical Accounting Manager to serve as the organization’s accounting policy expert, researching and applying U.S. GAAP and IFRS to complex transactions.

You will develop and maintain accounting policies, prepare technical white papers, support external audits, and collaborate with Finance, Tax, Treasury, Legal and Operations to ensure accurate, compliant financial reporting. A CPA and 6–10 years of progressive accounting experience are required.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Master's degree or MBA preferred.
• CPA license required.

Job Summary

The Technical Accounting Manager serves as the organization's subject matter expert on technical accounting matters by researching, interpreting, and applying U.S. GAAP and IFRS standards. The role provides accounting guidance on complex transactions, develops accounting policies, prepares technical documentation, supports financial reporting, and works closely with auditors and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare technical accounting white papers, accounting policy memos, and guidance documents.
• Develop and maintain the organization's accounting policies and procedures.

• Provide accounting guidance on business transactions, contracts, restructurings, and regulatory changes.
• Support external audits by preparing technical documentation and defending accounting positions.
• Review and prepare financial statement disclosures and accounting policy notes.
• Ensure consistency between accounting policies and financial reporting.
• Collaborate with Finance, Tax, Treasury, Legal, Operations, and other departments.
• Deliver technical accounting training and guidance to finance team members.
• Monitor new accounting standards and assess their impact on the organization.

Requirements:

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required.
• 6-10 years of progressive accounting experience with strong technical accounting expertise.
