Job summary

Somatus is seeking an Accounting Manager, Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting for its hybrid McLean, VA office. You will lead core close activities, provide technical GAAP guidance, and support audit readiness across revenue and healthcare contracts.

The role requires CPA-preferred credentials, 7+ years of accounting experience, and a focus on scalable processes, internal controls, and cross-functional collaboration with Legal, Operations, and external auditors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting required.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience including public or corporate accounting.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and technical accounting for complex revenue and guarantees.

Responsibilities

• Own or support monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities with journal entries and reconciliations.
• Serve as a technical accounting resource for ASC 606 revenue and ASC 460 guarantees.
• Prepare technical memoranda and analyses for significant accounting matters.
• Collaborate with Legal, Finance, FP&A, Operations, and auditors on new arrangements and disclosures.
• Maintain and enhance chart of accounts, close calendars, and control documentation.
• Develop reporting tools, reconciliations, and analytics to improve visibility and accuracy.
