This position will be based on-site in Las Colinas (Irving), Texas. This is a highly visible role within our corporate finance organization and is responsible for leading key aspects of our external financial reporting (SEC reporting of 10-Ks and 10-Qs, as well as support of Investor Relations), technical accounting and consolidation infrastructure.
As we continue to mature our reporting environment, this role will partner closely with the CAO, CFO, FP&A, tax, legal, revenue cycle management, regional CFOs, regional accounting, external auditors and other business leaders to strengthen reporting quality, disclosure readiness, close discipline and internal controls.
Lead SEC reporting, preparing Forms 10-K and 10-Q, and supporting Investor Relations.
Partner with the CAO, legal, FP&A, tax, treasury, internal audit, external advisors and other stakeholders to support disclosure governance, cross-functional review of external reporting materials, reporting consistency and audit‑ready documentation.
Support preparation of backlog, bonding capacity, and other construction‑specific investor disclosures in coordination with Investor Relations and surety/bonding partners.
Perform technical accounting research and prepare accounting analyses and whitepapers for complex U.S. GAAP matters, including revenue recognition (over‑time revenue recognition), business combinations, purchase accounting (reviewing valuation reports and preparing opening balance sheets), goodwill and long‑lived asset impairment, share‑based compensation, leases, debt and equity transactions, segment reporting, EPS considerations, related‑party matters and new accounting standard adoption.
Own technical accounting for long‑term, fixed‑price and unit‑price construction contracts under ASC 606 (including assessments of significant contracts), including percentage‑of‑completion measurement, estimate‑at‑completion (EAC) updates, and variable consideration.
Review contract asset and contract liability positions (costs and estimated earnings in excess of billings, and billings in excess of costs and estimated earnings), including retainage classification and aging.
Advise regional finance teams on claims, unapproved change orders, and contract modifications for proper recognition timing and disclosure.
Maintain the anticipated loss (loss‑contract) accrual policy and monitor projects for early identification of loss positions.
Provide accounting support to the business development team and other strategic initiatives, including evaluation of proposed transactions, acquisition‑related accounting considerations and related financial reporting impacts.
Lead purchase accounting and integration considerations for tuck‑in and roll‑up acquisitions, a core component of the company's growth strategy.
Evaluate joint venture, consortium, and teaming arrangements for proper consolidation and variable‑interest‑entity (VIE) determination.
Partner with accounting, FP&A and other finance leaders to improve reporting automation, data integrity, dashboarding, financial reporting analytics and scalable reporting processes.
Continue development of accounting policies, internal control documentation, reporting processes and financial statement support designed to be scalable and audit‑ready.
Ensure proper lease accounting (ASC 842) for equipment, real estate, and job‑site facilities.
Provide technical accounting oversight for the company's owned and leased equipment fleet, including componentization, useful‑life assessments, and impairment considerations.
