Technical Account Manager - OpenShift Container Platform

About The Job

Red Hat's North American Public Sector Services team is seeking an enterprise engineer with expertise in Platform-as-a-Service and container technologies. This remote position in the U.S. Eastern or Central Time Zone involves partnering with public sector clients to provide architectural guidance and implementation support for Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform solutions. This is a non-sales role focused on customer engagement, collaboration with engineering and support teams, and advocating for customer needs.

Responsibilities
  • Support enterprise clients in deploying automated, containerized cloud application platforms.
  • Rapidly learn new technologies, including container orchestration, registries, build strategies, and microservices.
  • Conduct technical reviews and share knowledge to proactively address issues.
  • Understand customer infrastructure, hardware, and environment.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve technical issues.
  • Manage customer cases and documentation; develop engagement plans.
  • Build trust and serve as customer advocate; present operational reviews.
  • Maintain and grow customer relationships through attentive support.
  • Travel as needed for customer visits.
Qualifications
  • U.S. citizenship is required for government contracts.
  • Strong technical and customer-facing skills.
  • Knowledge of PaaS solutions like Red Hat OpenShift.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud management tools.
  • Understanding of enterprise architecture and hardware vendors.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD, source code management tools.
  • Optional: software engineering background, Linux, Java tech.
  • Willingness to provide after-hours support and occasional on-site visits.
Preferred Skills and Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • U.S. security clearance.
  • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE).
  • DevOps experience, cloud deployment, and containerization.
  • Experience with cloud providers like AWS, Azure, GCP, or IBM Cloud.
  • Experience with Red Hat technologies such as Satellite, OpenStack, Ansible.
Compensation and Benefits

Salary range: $94,550 - $151,170, based on experience and qualifications. Benefits include comprehensive health coverage, 401(k), paid time off, parental leave, and additional perks. Note: Benefits are for full-time, U.S.-based employees.
