About The Job

Red Hat's Technical Services team is seeking an enterprise-level engineer to join us remotely as an OpenShift Technical Account Manager (TAM) in the Southeastern U.S. In this role, you will work with a select group of enterprise customers to provide direct technical and architectural guidance for the Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform. Customer support at Red Hat extends beyond simple "break-fix" solutions, offering industry-leading resources to ensure efficient operation of customer environments, allowing them to focus on growth.

Technical account management is a premium support service that fosters long-lasting loyalty between Red Hat and our customers. You will develop relationships, gain a deep understanding of their Red Hat implementations, share best practices, and serve as the primary contact during major incidents, managing communications and expectations through resolution. Additionally, you will tailor support for each environment, facilitate collaboration with other vendors, and advocate on behalf of your customers. You will also collaborate closely with our engineering, R&D, product management, and support teams to troubleshoot, test, and resolve issues. The ideal TAM is a team player, professional, dedicated, relationship-oriented, quick to learn new technologies, and efficient with their time.

What You Will Do
  • Support enterprise customers in implementing automated and containerized cloud application solutions.
  • Rapidly learn new technologies such as container orchestration, registries, build strategies, and microservices.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders and understand their business goals.
  • Perform technical reviews and proactively prevent issues.
  • Understand customer infrastructures and serve as their advocate within Red Hat.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve issues.
  • Create and maintain documentation on customer environments and issues.
  • Manage and nurture customer relationships with attentive support.
  • Advise customers on technology changes and mitigation strategies.
  • Troubleshoot and escalate technical issues.
  • Present operational performance reviews to customer leadership.
  • Engage with field teams, customers, and partners to ensure positive outcomes.
  • Communicate how Red Hat solutions align with customer use cases.
  • Occasionally travel to regional customers.
What You Will Bring
  • 5+ years of experience in support, development, engineering, or IT.
  • Experience with PaaS cloud solutions like Red Hat OpenShift.
  • Expertise in enterprise cloud solutions, containers, Kubernetes, and automation.
  • Ability to manage and grow customer relationships proactively.
  • Understanding of enterprise architecture and business drivers.
  • Strong communication skills in English.
  • Willingness to travel within the region.
  • Residence in the Southeastern U.S.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a tech discipline; computer science or engineering preferred.
  • DevOps experience, CI/CD knowledge, and familiarity with source control tools are a plus.
  • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certification is a plus.

The salary range for this position is $94,550 - $151,170, based on qualifications.
