Technical Account Manager - OpenShift Container Platform

About The Job

Red Hat's North American Public Sector Services team is seeking an enterprise-level engineer with experience in Platform-as-a-Service and container technologies. This role is remote in the U.S. Eastern or Central Time Zone. You will work closely with public sector customers to provide architectural guidance and implementation support for Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform solutions. This is a non-sales role focused on customer engagement, part of the Red Hat engineering and support teams. You will deliver premium support to foster customer loyalty by tailoring solutions, facilitating vendor collaborations, and advocating on their behalf.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Supporting enterprise customers in implementing cloud application platforms.
  2. Learning new technologies such as container orchestration, registries, build strategies, and microservices.
  3. Conducting technical reviews and sharing knowledge to prevent issues.
  4. Understanding customer infrastructures, hardware, and environments.
  5. Collaborating with engineering, development, product management, and support teams.
  6. Managing customer cases and documentation, and developing engagement plans.
  7. Building trust and acting as customer advocate within Red Hat.
  8. Managing and growing customer relationships through attentive support.
  9. Traveling as needed for customer visits.

Qualifications include:

  • U.S. citizenship (required for government contracts).
  • Strong technical and customer-facing skills.
  • Knowledge of PaaS solutions like Red Hat OpenShift.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, cloud management, and IT automation tools.
  • Understanding of enterprise architecture and business drivers.
  • Experience with hardware vendors.
  • Ability to handle multiple issues and projects.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD, source control tools, and Linux/Java technologies is a plus.
  • Willingness to provide after-hours support and occasional on-site visits.

Preferred additional qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • U.S. security clearance.
  • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE).
  • Experience in DevOps, cloud deployment, and various cloud providers.

The salary range for this position is $94,550 - $151,170, commensurate with experience. Red Hat offers comprehensive benefits and promotes an inclusive culture based on open source principles.
