Summary / Role Purpose

The Technical Account Manager (TAM) acts as a true partner to our customers by understanding their needs, goals, and challenges, and delivering an outstanding experience. The TAM collaborates closely with the Enterprise Account Manager (EAM) to identify growth opportunities, plan technical activities, and coordinate with presales, support, consulting, training, and development teams.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Establish long-term relationships with assigned accounts, aligning Ansys solutions with key business initiatives; serve as the customer's single point of contact for all technical activities.
  • Work with the EAM to identify strategic technical activities to achieve sales goals, coordinating resources across teams.
  • Map customer technical requirements to Ansys solutions, providing expertise in relevant industry segments.
  • Leverage technical resources to expand Ansys footprint, identify opportunities to displace competitors, and promote product adoption globally.
  • Oversee technical support activities, ensuring quality and follow-up, and coordinate with development for defect resolution and enhancements.
  • Support marketing strategies to promote technology deployment and adoption.
  • Participate in product enhancement discussions and competitive positioning.
  • Lead opportunity qualification and technical campaigns, advising on market sizing.
  • Drive account-based marketing strategies and technology deployment, including partner solutions.
Minimum Education/Certification and Experience
  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum years of professional experience: BS+8, MS+6, PhD+3.
  • Experience with relevant Ansys software or other CAE, CAD, EDA, PLM tools.
  • Understanding of Ansys products and their application in customer segments.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills; fluent in English.
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 25% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
  • Higher education and experience: BS+12, MS+10, PhD+7.
  • Four years in application engineering, customer support, or consulting roles.
  • Ability to interact effectively with senior management and C-level executives.
  • Travel availability up to 50% domestically.
  • Experience in Aerospace and Defense industries and familiarity with gas turbine design processes.
