Job summary

PAR Technology Corporation seeks a Director of Technical Operations and Delivery to lead technical operations for premier clients. You will own the data engineering and partner engineering initiatives, driving scalable data pipelines and Tableau-like storytelling with SQL and Python. A strong AWS foundation and experience with large datasets are required.

This role features remote collaboration across multiple U.S. locations and close cross-functional teamwork.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or equivalent experience.
• Strong SQL, data pipelines, and cloud data platforms.
• Experience with AWS core services and data analytics tools.
• Familiarity with agile project management and version control.

Responsibilities

• Educate clients on platform capabilities, integration best practices, and data governance standards.
• Proactively manage client communication, expectations, and roadmaps; document solutions clearly in Confluence or internal wikis.
• Design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines and ETL workflows.
• Develop in Python with data libraries (pandas, numpy, polars, pyspark, boto3).
• Leverage AWS services (S3, Redshift, Athena, Glue, EMR, etc.).
• Write production SQL, manage CI/CD with GitHub/Jenkins/Docker, and support DevOps culture.

Partner Engineering sits at the intersection of client success and technical execution, ensuring our largest enterprise clients have seamless data integrations, efficient onboarding, and long-term technical success. In this client-facing role, you will serve as the primary technical liaison for strategic clients — owning the relationship from scoping through implementation and ongoing support. You will collaborate closely with Customer Success, Product, and Engineering to solve complex data challenges while translating technical concepts into clear, actionable guidance for clients. Director of Technical Operations and Delivery

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Technical Consulting, Partner Engineering, Solutions Engineering).
• Strong SQL skills and experience with data platforms like Snowflake, Redshift, and Athena.
• Proficient in Python and its data stack (pandas, numpy, polars, pyspark, boto3).
• Deep experience with AWS cloud services including core compute, storage, and analytics tools.
• Demonstrated success working with large-scale datasets and a wide variety of data formats (Parquet, ORC, CSV).
• Experience troubleshooting distributed systems and cloud services (e.g., Experience with Agile project management tools like Jira and version control using Git/GitHub.
• Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or equivalent experience.
• Technical Consulting, Partner Engineering, Solutions Engineering).
• Familiarity with alerting/monitoring tools (e.g., Familiarity with data orchestration tools like Airflow.
• Hands-on experience with AI tools such as Claude or Snowflake Intelligence is a plus.

Technical Account Management (70%)

• Educate clients on platform capabilities, integration best practices, and data governance standards.
• Proactively manage client communication, expectations, and roadmaps.
• Document solutions and processes clearly in Confluence or internal wikis.

Data Engineering (30%)

• Design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines and ETL workflows.
• Develop in Python using libraries like pandas, numpy, polars, pyspark, and boto3.
• Leverage AWS services including S3, EC2, Redshift, Athena, Glue, EMR, EventBridge, Batch, and CloudWatch.
• Write efficient, production-grade SQL for data transformation and analysis.
• Manage CI/CD pipelines using GitHub, Jenkins, and Docker.
• Follow Agile best practices using Jira and contribute to a DevOps culture.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex data issues across AWS services, data pipelines, and codebases (Python, SQL, etc.).

AI Integration (FY2026 Requirement — All Roles)

• Leverage AI tools such as Claude to accelerate client-facing technical documentation, automate data pipeline troubleshooting, and streamline SQL/Python code review, improving turnaround time on client solutions.
