Qualifications

  • Proven PPAP and APQP knowledge and exposure to manufacturing cost drivers.
  • Strong cost modeling, forecasting skills, and data-driven decision making.
  • Excellent communication skills for executive interactions and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and manage a global sales pipeline from identification to award.
  • Develop KPI reports, win/loss analysis, and pipeline health metrics.
  • Use advanced Excel models to forecast revenue and resource needs.
  • Provide data-driven insights to optimize prospecting and sales targets.
  • Lead RFQ reviews and coordinate cross-functional feasibility with engineering and operations.
  • Review costs and develop pricing aligned with sales strategy.
  • Manage quotes, follow up, and drive accurate sales forecasting.
  • Oversee technical feasibility, APQP/PPAP activities and program launches.
  • Serve as liaison between customer needs and internal manufacturing teams.
  • Travel globally to support development, reviews, and negotiations.
  • Support new business development with Tier 1 and OEM customers.
  • Provide field feedback to engineering and operations for improvements.
  • Maintain disciplined documentation of customer interactions and actions.

Position Title: Technical Account Manager
Position Summary

The Technical Account Manager is a customer-facing role responsible for supporting revenue growth by aligning technical requirements with commercial strategy. This position manages technical feasibility, RFQ execution, pricing development, and sales forecasting in direct support of the sales team.

Working closely with the EVP of Sales & Marketing, this individual maintains the sales pipeline and technical project tracking to ensure disciplined execution and successful program launches across the global sales cycle. The role serves as a critical bridge between customer technical needs and internal commercial operations, enabling the sales organization to move quickly and accurately through each stage of the sales process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and manage the global sales pipeline, ensuring all opportunities are accurately tracked from identification through award
  • Develop and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) including win/loss ratios, quote turnaround times, and pipeline health
  • Utilize advanced Excel modeling to provide the EVP of Sales with visibility into future revenue and resource requirements
  • Monitor performance against sales targets and provide data-driven insights to optimize prospecting efforts
RFQ, Quoting & Forecasting
  • Lead RFQ reviews to ensure absolute clarity on technical and commercial requirements
  • Coordinate cross-functional feasibility reviews with engineering, quality, and operations
  • Review manufacturing costs and develop competitive pricing recommendations in alignment with sales strategy
  • Manage the quote log and drive rigorous follow-up to improve conversion rates
  • Develop and maintain accurate sales forecasts based on pipeline data, quote status, and program timing
Technical Feasibility, APQP & Project Tracking
  • Manage technical feasibility and communicate risks, assumptions, and gaps to the customer
  • Support APQP activities and manage the PPAP process to ensure successful program launches
  • Serve as the primary technical liaison between the customer and internal manufacturing teams
  • Track awarded programs from initial quote through launch, ensuring milestones and deliverables are met
  • Lead print reviews and serve as the central clearinghouse for all technical documentation
  • Travel globally as required to support business development, technical reviews, and program launches
  • Lead onsite technical presentations and support complex commercial negotiations
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customer engineering, purchasing, and program teams
Sales & Business Development Support
  • Support the EVP Sales in prospecting, pipeline development, and opportunity qualification
  • Assist in developing new business with existing and prospective Tier 1 and OEM customers
  • Provide actionable field feedback to engineering and operations based on customer input
Customer Support & Issue Resolution
  • Proactively visit customers to identify emerging needs and resolve technical hurdles
  • Coordinate with quality and engineering to resolve customer issues and drive corrective actions
  • Maintain disciplined documentation of customer interactions, actions, and follow-ups
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, a technical field, or equivalent experience
  • 3–7+ years in technical sales, applications support, or a technical account management environment
  • Proven experience with PPAP and APQP processes is a requirement
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, print interpretation, and cost drivers
  • Ability to travel internationally
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills: Expert level required for cost modeling, pipeline data analysis, and forecasting
  • Strong technical and commercial acumen with a proactive, ownership-driven mindset
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through
  • Professional communication skills suitable for executive-level interaction
  • Ability to manage multiple global priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Global perspective and ability to navigate various business cultures
