Our client is a global automotive manufacturer of engineered components and control systems for the commercial vehicle, powersports, powertrain, agriculture, and construction markets.
POSITION DESCRIPTION AND SPECIFICATION
- Act as the primary commercial interface between the company and key customer accounts by taking ownership of strategic business development and long-term relationship management.
- Drive sustainable, profitable growth by identifying new business opportunities and developing customercentric strategies.
- Lead cross-functional collaboration across R&D, operations, finance, and purchasing to ensure the execution of strategic business objectives.
- Represent the customers’ interests within the organization by translating market and customer insights into actionable commercial initiatives, supporting the company’s long-term vision.
- Open to traveling or flying to customer locations for meetings and relationship building in person.
- Willing to visit company production sites for internal discussions. Travel is a REQUIREMENT FOR up to 30%.
STRATEGIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement account plans and customer roadmaps aligned with the company’s strategic goals and long-term growth roadmap
- Drive new business development and secure new opportunities with existing and potential customers
- As the company’s external representative, lead commercial negotiations, shape pricing strategies, and develop contractual frameworks
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establish and maintain strong professional relationships with key customer decision makers and stakeholders
- Deliver detailed market and competitor analysis to support commercial decisions and enhance account strategy
- Closely follow account performance through sales forecasting and budget planning
- Lead and coordinate quotation processes and account profitability activities
PERSONAL TASKS
- Drive daily account activities, project follow-up, and timely resolution of customer issues
- Provide continuous communication and documentation of all strategic insights to relevant stakeholders
- Represent the company at customer visits, industry events, tradeshow and workshops
- Continuously developing industry knowledge. Stay on top of customer insights, industry and market trends, as well as technological advancements
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: 3-10 years of relevant experience in a customer-facing commercial, sales, or account-management role.
- Industry Background: Experience in at least one of the following markets: commercial vehicles, powersports, powertrain, agriculture, or construction.
- Business Development: Proven ability to grow existing accounts and secure new business.
- Commercial Experience: Experience with RFQs, quotations, pricing, contract negotiations, sales forecasting, and account profitability.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field.
- Systems: Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Experience with SAP, Power BI, and CRM systems is preferred.
- Core Skills: Customer-focused mindset, strong negotiation and relationship-building skills, a hunter-farmer sales approach, and the ability to work independently.
- Travel: Ability to travel up to 30%, including customer visits and trips to company production facilities.
- Location: Remote or hybrid, depending on location.
