Technical Account Manager – Pharma (Midwest)

Reports To: Sales Leader for Market Segment

FLSA Status: Salary Exempt | Remote

Our teams of experts are dedicated to specific markets within Life Sciences and Industrial Chemicals, serving over 59,000 customers with ~2,700 principal relationships, generating €4.11 billion in revenue (2022).

We seek an experienced and innovative Technical Account Manager to join our team.

Summary:

Responsible for ensuring annual growth for the assigned customer base, developing deep relationships with decision makers and influencers through face-to-face visits, providing application solutions based on our lateral value chain. This position involves promoting and selling a portfolio of excipients and actives used in pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, and biopharma applications within the territory.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Obtain knowledge of product lines and industries, make presentations to R&D and manufacturing personnel, and work with purchasing to close sales.
  2. Prepare timely call reports and Supplier Highlights for significant interactions.
  3. Develop sales by seeking appointments with current and prospective customers, managing the balance to align with growth strategies.
  4. Provide accurate forecasting through regular customer updates to ensure inventory excellence.
  5. Ensure visibility through thorough use of CRM systems.
  6. Maintain an accurate Opportunity Pipeline to maximize growth.
  7. Provide timely Market Intelligence internally and to principals.
  8. Strive for Margin Optimization.
  9. Other responsibilities include adhering to department procedures, supporting Responsible Distribution principles, and representing the company at industry events. Overnight travel up to 50% may be required.

Qualifications:

  • 4-year college degree, preferably in Chemistry, Engineering, Biology, or related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience in Pharma and/or nutraceuticals, focusing on excipients, APIs, and ANI’s.
  • Chemical Distribution experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and in teams.
