Job summary

CONMED Corporation seeks a SAP ABAP HANA expert with strong ABAP and SAP Functional background to strengthen custom development and support business processes through robust RAP frameworks.

You will develop and expose RAP-based services, build CDS views, and optimize ABAP code while collaborating with Fiori/UI5 teams. This role requires experience in S/4HANA, CDS, ABAP OO, and performance tuning. Remote work with occasional travel offered.

Qualifications

• 5+ years SAP ABAP experience covering SAP S/4HANA.

Job description

Purpose

We are seeking a SAP ABAP HANA with 10 to 12 years of experience specializing in SAP ABAP HANA with strong SAP technical background. The role focuses on strengthening SAP ABAP HANA custom development and supporting business processes through robust RAP frameworks with strong ABAP and SAP Functional background.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Strong expertise in:
  • ABAP OO, Classical ABAP, RICEF objects
  • S/4HANA development – CDS Views, AMDP, Open SQL optimization, code pushdown
  • RAP (RESTful ABAP Programming Model) – CDS-based modelling, BDEF, behaviour implementations, service bindings
  • OData Services (SEGW, RAP-based exposure) and API integrations
• Solid understanding of SAP Clean Core principles and development of clean core-compliant custom objects.
• Knowledge of EML (Entity Manipulation Language) Experience with:
  • Enhancements – BAdIs, User Exits, Enhancement Framework, custom field & custom logic app.
  • BAPIs, RFCs, Web Services, APIs
• Adobe Forms / SmartForms.
• Knowledge of ATC checks with SAP best practices for S4 HANA cloud.
• Good technical understanding of functional processes in MM, SD, FI, PP, EWM.
• Experience in custom code remediation, performance tuning, and S/4HANA conversion activities.
• Ability to work independently in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
• Understanding of BTP (BAS) studio.
• Design, develop, and implement custom ABAP (RAP) solutions in SAP S/4HANA.
• Build and optimize CDS Views, AMDP logic, and HANA-optimized custom code.
• Develop and expose RAP-based business objects and OData services.
• Develop and maintain RICEF objects (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms).
• Ensure adherence to SAP development standards, security, governance, and clean-core guidelines.
• Collaborate with functional and Fiori/UI5 teams to deliver integrated end-to-end solutions.
• Perform unit testing, code reviews, performance optimization, and production issue resolution.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, specifications, and knowledge transfer materials.
• Support SIT, UAT, go-live, and post-go-live activities.
• Experience with FIORI integration

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education

• Completed university degree. BCA or BTech (CS) or MCA equivalent.
• SAP Associate level certification preferred.

Experience

• 5+ years SAP ABAP experience covering SAP S/4HANA, must have one Implementation and one support experience. Exposure to custom development using RAP model and Private cloud experience.
