Job summary

Verdantas is hiring for a field-oriented geology/environmental role based in Kentucky. You will assist with field investigations, collect environmental data, and support technical reporting while following SOPs and safety protocols. A strong emphasis on fieldwork, data interpretation, and travel is noted.

The position requires a 0–2 year background, a related Bachelor's degree, and the ability to travel up to 90%. OSHA HAZWOPER training is a plus, and a valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Geology, Environmental Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 0-2 years of relevant field experience.
  • Ability to conduct fieldwork with some heavy lifting.
  • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training a plus.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must be able to travel 90% of the time.
  • Proficient with MS Office suite of products.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with field investigations, including soil and rock sampling, drilling oversight, and groundwater monitoring.
  • Collect and interpret geologic and environmental data through field observations, measurements, and testing.
  • Prepare logs, maps, and figures to support technical reports.
  • Perform data analysis and assist in drafting reports, proposals, and recommendations.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols in field and lab settings.
  • Support senior staff in evaluating geologic hazards and site conditions.
  • Maintain accurate field records and documentation.
