Qualifications

  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association needed.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and document routine patient care under supervision.
  • Assist with IV insertion, phlebotomy, and basic wound care.

Overview

PRN Position

6:45pm - 7:15am

The Vascular Access Technician performs and documents direct routine patient care under a licensed provider's supervision according to hospital guidelines.


Qualifications

Age of Patients Served:
All Age Groups.


Required Education:
High School Diploma or GED or Vocational Training.


Required Licensure/Certifications:
Current Florida EMT license -OR- current Florida Paramedic license.
BLS from the American Heart Association.


Required Experience:
Less than 1 year of practical clinical experience.


Preferred Experience:
1 or more years of previous experience in a health care environment.


Necessary Skills:

  1. Knowledge of patient care and basic human needs within the life span.
  2. Knowledge of medical terminology.
  3. Knowledge of aseptic techniques.
