Position Overview

PRN Position

Hours: 6:45pm - 7:15am

The Vascular Access Technician performs and documents direct routine patient care under the supervision of a licensed provider, following hospital guidelines.

Qualifications

• Age of Patients Served: All Age Groups
• High School Diploma or GED or Vocational Training
• Current Florida EMT license OR Florida Paramedic license
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Less than 1 year of practical clinical experience (required)
• 1 or more years of healthcare experience (preferred)

Necessary Skills

• Knowledge of patient care, basic human needs, and medical terminology
• Knowledge of aseptic techniques and disease processes
• Ability to recognize emergencies and maintain confidentiality
• Proficiency in reading and writing English
• Skills in ECG recognition, IV insertion, urinary catheterization, gastric tube insertion, phlebotomy, basic wound care, splinting, AED operation, chest compressions, and eye irrigation
