Job summary

Axiom is seeking an experienced Trade Compliance Attorney to advise technology, software, cloud, or SaaS clients on U.S. and international import/export compliance.

The role focuses on EAR regulations, licensing, classification, and cross-border trade requirements in a technology-driven environment. You will collaborate with product, engineering, legal, and compliance teams to implement trade controls, draft policies, and guide licensing and cross-border transfers of software, data, and

Qualifications

• Experience advising technology, software, cloud, or SaaS companies on international trade compliance.
• Strong ability to translate regulatory requirements into practical business guidance.

Responsibilities

• Advise on U.S. and international import and export compliance, EAR and related regulations.
• Conduct export classification (ECCN) and HTS determinations for software and hardware.
• Support import and customs classification and licensing requirements.
• Assess license exceptions, end-user restrictions, and country-specific controls.
• Provide guidance on cross-border transfer of software, cloud services, and technology.
• Draft and update trade compliance policies and contractual provisions.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, compliance, and business teams to operationalize trade requirements.
• Identify risks and provide practical guidance for global operations.
• Monitor regulatory developments affecting imports/exports and tech transfers.
