Job summary

Plante Moran’s National Tax Office is seeking an intellectually curious and entrepreneurial professional to develop deep expertise in partnership taxation, mergers and acquisitions, and transaction planning, with opportunities to leverage AI-enabled consulting solutions.

You will work directly with experienced tax consultants, attorneys, CPAs, and transaction specialists on complex matters while building skills for a technical specialist, thought leader, and practice builder career path.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Master’s in Taxation, JD, or related degree.
• CPA candidate, CPA, JD, or active pursuit of professional credentials.
• Strong interest in technical tax consulting and complex federal tax issues.
• Exceptional research, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Entrepreneurial mindset and willingness to take initiative.
• Collaborative work style with partners, managers, staff, and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Technical tax consulting on mergers, acquisitions, restructurings and business transactions.
• Partner tax consulting projects involving allocations, basis adjustments, and Subchapter K matters.
• Conduct technical tax research and prepare memoranda, analyses, and client deliverables.
• Support transaction modeling, structuring projects, and planning analyses for partnerships.
• Develop tax planning recommendations for clients and engagement teams.
• Gain exposure to projects across manufacturing, services, funds, private equity, and energy.
