Job summary

Modern Woodmen of America in Rock Island, IL is seeking a Technical Support Administrator I to support employees' technology needs and keep devices connected. The role involves the laptop lifecycle, troubleshooting, scripting, and cross‑functional collaboration to maintain efficient IT operations.

The ideal candidate has an associate degree in computer science and 1+ years of experience, strong Windows and hardware knowledge, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
• 1+ years related work experience.
• Advanced knowledge of laptop/PC hardware, Windows software, IT Help Desk processes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and the ability to work well with others.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to install, configure, and upgrade Windows applications.
• Ability to obtain LOMA Level I within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Support PC and end-user hardware and endpoint computing environments.
• Perform system administration and management for endpoint systems.
• Provide Tier 2+ support with root-cause analysis and bug resolution.
• Create and manage scripts in PowerShell, Python, or other scripting languages.
• Administer endpoint tools such as Microsoft Intune, BigFix, ControlUp, and Microsoft Defender.
• Maintain 3rd‑party software catalog management.
• Coordinate equipment pickup/delivery between locations.
• Perform diagnostic testing on laptops and document findings.
• Support Hardware Operations Center and firmware maintenance for end-user devices.
• Collaborate with teams and security on on-prem and cloud infrastructure security.
