Job summary

5W is seeking a Senior Account Executive for our Technology practice. You’ll lead media outreach, develop compelling materials, and own client programs across multiple tech accounts in a fast-paced agency setting.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of PR with technology clients, strong writing and pitching, and a track record of securing coverage. The role offers a hybrid NYC area environment with competitive salary and extensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of PR experience, with time spent supporting technology clients in an agency setting.
• A strong network of tech media contacts and a demonstrated ability to land coverage
• Excellent writing, pitching, and presentation skills
• Superior account and time management skills, with the ability to juggle competing deadlines
• An entrepreneurial spirit and a genuine curiosity about the tech industry

Responsibilities

• Craft compelling media materials from the ground up: press kits, press releases, media alerts, bios, case studies, and backgrounders
• Develop proactive, creative pitch angles rooted in each client’s industry, current trends, and news moments
• Drive consistent, high-impact media results across your portfolio of clients
• Build and nurture genuine relationships with influential tech journalists, editors, and industry voices to secure standout placements
• Monitor the media landscape and identify speaking opportunities that position clients as experts in their field
• Contribute to strategic communication plans, including media opportunities, tactics, and timelines
• Serve as a daily point of contact for clients, updating, reporting, and advising on media relations
• Bring sharp strategic and creative thinking to brainstorms that shape client programs
• Provide strong guidance and mentorship to junior team members
• Take on additional research, projects, and opportunities as they arise
