Job summary

Spring Valley Hospital, part of The Valley Health System, in Las Vegas, NV, is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist pharmacists with medication preparation, distribution, and inventory control inside a busy hospital pharmacy.

Under supervision, you will maintain records and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. Nevada licensure and pharmacy tech certification are required or preferred depending on position.

Qualifications

• Education High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience One (1) year experience preferred.
• Technical Skills Automation experience with knowledge of reporting features (i.e., optimization, load/unload, nursing narcotic access, etc.)
• License/Certification Current license as Pharmacy Technician in State of Nevada, Certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board or the National Healthcareer Association as a pharmacy technician

Responsibilities

• Pharmacy Technicians assist in the activities of the pharmacy department under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
• Assist in preparing and distributing medications and maintaining drug inventory.
• Maintain records in compliance with state and federal regulations and written procedures.

Job Description

Pharmacy Technicians, under the supervision of a license pharmacist, assist in the various activities of the pharmacy department. Pharmacy Technicians assist the pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining the drug inventory and maintenance of records.
