Job summary

Doctors Hospital of Laredo in Laredo, TX, a 183-bed acute care facility, seeks a capable Nuclear Medicine Technologist to oversee diagnostic imaging procedures at a technical level not requiring direct supervision.

You will identify patients, review charts, perform nuclear medicine scans, administer radiopharmaceuticals, and communicate results to the radiologist and care team, contributing to high-quality patient care and safety.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of AMA COE radiologic technology program or equivalent.
  • CNMT licensure preferred or eligible.
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology and imaging principles.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies patients, reviews charts, and records data during imaging.
  • Reviews examinations for technical accuracy and communicates results.
  • Performs nuclear medicine procedures using diagnostic imaging techniques.
  • Administers radioactive pharmaceuticals and monitors tissue/organ function.

Job Summary

Responsible for the operation of diagnostic Nuclear Medicine and the performance of all Nuclear Medicine procedures at a technical level not requiring direct supervision.

Essential Job Functions
  • Identifies each patient, reviews each patient's chart and previous examinations for consistency (examination ordered/clinical diagnosis), and records pertinent data at all times.
  • Reviews each examination for technical accuracy, presents completed examination to radiologist, and communicates pertinent data to persons responsible for the care of the patient following the procedure.
  • Use diagnostic imaging techniques to detect and map radioactive drugs in the human body.
  • They administer radioactive pharmaceuticals to patients, then monitor the characteristics and functions of tissues or organs in which they localize.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Graduate of a recognized, approved American Medical Association Council of Education program in radiologic technology; associate's degree preferred.

Licensure: 1. Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists; or Graduate from a four year degree college with a CNMT Licenses BLS Required

Skills: Knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Ability to recognize subtle differences between healthy and pathological areas. Must possess a positive and courteous attitude, and take the initiate to go beyond what is expected in a teamwork environment.
