Job summary

Doctors Hospital of Laredo, an acute care facility in Laredo, TX, seeks a CT technologist to operate diagnostic CT and perform CT procedures at a technical level without direct supervision. The role emphasizes teamwork, accuracy, and patient care with on-call responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of AMA Council of Education program in radiologic technology; associate's degree preferred.
  • Previous CT-Tech experience in an acute care environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Identify each patient, review patient charts and prior examinations for consistency, and record pertinent data.
  • Review each examination for technical accuracy and present completed examination to radiologist.
  • Identify anatomical orientation on images and ensure proper film identification.
  • Must be able to take call when required.
  • Must perform quality control.

Job Summary

Responsible for the operation of diagnostic CT and the performance of all CT procedures at a technical level not requiring direct supervision. Possess a positive and courteous attitude, and take the initiate to go beyond what is expected in a teamwork environment.

Job Functions
  • Identifies each patient, reviews each patient's chart and previous examinations for consistency (examination ordered/clinical diagnosis), and records pertinent data at all times.
  • Reviews each examination for technical accuracy, presents completed examination to radiologist, and communicates pertinent data to persons responsible for the care of the patient following the procedure.
  • Identifies anatomical orientation on all required images, and ensures proper film identification on all images
  • Must be able to take call when required.
  • Must perform quality control.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
  • Graduate of a recognized, approved American Medical Association Council of Education program in radiologic technology; associate's degree preferred.
  • Previous experience as a CT-Tech in an acute care environment is preferred
Licensure
  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists; Certification by A.R.R.T on Computer Tomography or registry eligible.
  • Certification by Texas Medcial Board
  • BLS Required
Skills
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Ability to recognize subtle differences between healthy and pathological areas.
  • Knowledge of radiographic examinations as well as procedures that require the use of contrast agents.
  • Knowledge of radiographic equipment operation and radiation safety.
  • Knowledge of patient transfers and positioning technique.
