Job Summary

Responsible for the operation of diagnostic Mammogram and the performance of all Mammogram procedures at a technical level not requiring direct supervision.

Job Functions
  • Identifies each patient, reviews each patient's chart and previous examinations for consistency (examination ordered/clinical diagnosis), and records pertinent data at all times.
  • Reviews each examination for technical accuracy, presents completed examination to radiologist, and communicates pertinent data to persons responsible for the care of the patient following the procedure.
  • Identifies anatomical orientation on all required images and ensures proper film identification on all images.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Graduate of a recognized, approved American Medical Association Council of Education program in radiologic technology; associate's degree preferred.

Licensure: 1. Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists; Certification by A.R.R.T on Mammography or registry eligible.

  • BLS Required

Skills: Knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Ability to recognize subtle differences between healthy and pathological areas. Must possess a positive and courteous attitude and take the initiative to go beyond what is expected in a teamwork environment.
