Job summary

Universal Health Services operates Doctors Hospital of Laredo, a 183-bed acute care facility in Laredo, TX. The MRI technologist is responsible for the operation of diagnostic MRI procedures at a technical level not requiring direct supervision.

Essential duties include patient identification, chart review, image quality assurance, and communication with radiologists and care teams. A radiologic technology degree and ARRT MRI certification (or eligibility) are required, with BLS certification

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a recognized, approved AMA Council of Education program in radiologic technology; associate's degree preferred.
  • ARRT certification in MRI or registry eligible; BLS required.
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology; ability to recognize subtle differences between healthy and pathological areas.

Responsibilities

  • Operates diagnostic MRI equipment and performs MRI procedures.
  • Identifies patient, reviews charts, and records pertinent data during examinations.
  • Ensures proper image identification and communicates results to the radiologist and care team.

Job Summary

Responsible for the operation of diagnostic Magnetic Resonance Imaging for the performance of all MRI's procedures at a technical level not requiring direct supervision.

Essential Job Functions
  1. Identifies each patient, reviews each patient's chart and previous examinations for consistency (examination ordered/clinical diagnosis), and records pertinent data at all times.
  2. Reviews each examination for technical accuracy, presents completed examination to radiologist, and communicates pertinent data to persons responsible for the care of the patient following the procedure.
  3. Identifies anatomical orientation on all required images, and ensures proper film identification on all images

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications

Education: Graduate of a recognized, approved American Medical Association Council of Education program in radiologic technology; associate's degree preferred.

Licensure: Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists; Certification by A.R.R.T on MRI or registry eligible.

  • BLS Required

Skills: Knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Ability to recognize subtle differences between healthy and pathological areas.
