Job summary

Viking Electric, part of the Sonepar group, is seeking a Tech Modifications Specialist in Milwaukee. You will assemble projects per wiring diagrams and work orders, support production, and collaborate across departments to meet schedules and quality standards.

The role runs a 6:00am–2:30pm Monday–Friday in Milwaukee, WI, with competitive benefits and opportunities for growth within the Sonepar family.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum two years electrical and/or mechanical background, including warehousing and assembly.
• Strong mechanical and analytical aptitude; basic wiring diagrams and electrical schematics knowledge.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assemble projects to the customer’s specifications.
• Assist in production of various phases of assemblies, and complete turnkey projects with guidance.
• Perform light manufacturing of multiple product categories following defined processes.
• Interact effectively with Viking team members, other departments, and vendors.

Job type: Full time

Schedule: 6:00am -2:30pm Monday – Friday

Build and assemble projects based on customer specifications utilizing wiring diagrams, schematics, work orders and pictures provided. Provide quality products as well as meet the production schedule for all projects.

You will…

• Assemble projects to the customer’s specifications.
• Assist in production of various phases of assemblies, but also be able to produce a turnkey project from start to finish with direction provided by manager.
• Perform light manufacturing of multiple product categories in a fast-paced build shop, following defined processes for manufacturing accuracy.
• Effectively respond to and interact with all levels of Viking team members and other departments, and with vendors.

What You Bring

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum two years electrical and/or mechanical background, including warehousing and assembly.
• Strong mechanical and analytical aptitude, along with understanding and basic knowledge of wiring diagrams and electrical schematics
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
• Good manual dexterity and experience with power and hand tools, and engraving equipment
• Strong organizational skills. Able to manage time effectively
• Ability to adapt quickly to changes and handle pressure
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work well independently and as a team member; and collaboratively across departments
• Proficient PC skills: knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook); internet navigation and other PC skills
• Ability to lift 75 lbs.
• Powered Industrial Equipment certification
• No vision hinderances in relation to color
