Job summary

MSD Malaysia is seeking an experienced Energy Center Maintenance Technician to operate, troubleshoot and maintain energy center equipment in a manufacturing setting. You will perform PMs, manage documentation in SAP, and support GMP compliance while working on a 5-2-2-5 rotating shift from 6:00 to 6:00.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or technical degree and 2 years of energy center experience, with strong electrical/mechanical knowledge and CMMS proficiency.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent with 2 years energy center maintenance experience OR 2-year technical degree with 2 years energy center experience.
  • Must be able to read electrical prints, P&ID's, and understand P&ID control loops.
  • Extensive industrial electrical experience with steam generation, compressors, chillers, water systems, and HVAC.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain Energy Center Equipment including chillers, compressors, boilers, and water systems.
  • Perform Preventive Maintenance on Energy Center equipment.
  • Prepare technical documentation (PMs, Correctives, validation procedures) as needed.
  • Provide technical specifications to Quality, Manufacturing, and Process Engineers.
  • Maintain equipment records in SAP and CMMS.
  • Participate in new equipment installations and select parts and lubricants.
  • Ensure compliance with GMPs and SOPs; rotate 6:00–6:00 5-2-2-5 schedule.

Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain all Energy Center Equipment, which includes but not limited to chillers, air compressors, boilers, waste water treatment, potable water, etc.
  • Knowledge of PM and PDM techniques Vibration Analysis and Ultrasonic detection.
  • Sets up, adjusts, repairs, and maintains Energy Center equipment.
  • Performs Preventative Maintenance on Energy Center equipment.
  • Prepares technical documentation (PMs, Correctives, & validation procedures) on as needed basis.
  • Provides technical specifications and information to Quality, Manufacturing, Process-Project Engineers, and other Manufacturing Division's requestors.
  • Maintains Utility equipment by developing/performing PM's, installing new equipment, completing validation protocols, documenting work using a computerized maintenance management system (SAP) and other duties as requested by the Maintenance Coach.
  • Performs preventative maintenance inspections and prepares inspection reports concerning operation of equipment and mechanical condition of equipment.
  • Responsible for participating in new equipment installations by interfacing with equipment vendors and recommending spare parts, selecting lubrication processes and assisting process project engineers.
  • Performing initial de-bug and redesign operations to make equipment operable.
  • Responsible for performing assignments in conformance with appropriate Regulatory (GMP's) and department Standard Operating Procedures which assure the quality of our products.
  • This is a rotating shift position, 5 2 2 5 rotation, hours of work are 6:00 to 6:00 rotating from days to nights every 3 months.
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent and Two (2) years energy center maintenance experience with a focus on energy center systems, troubleshooting & repair within a manufacturing environment OR 2-year technical degree and 2 years energy center maintenance experience with a focus on industrial utility systems management/troubleshooting & repair within a manufacturing environment.

  • Proficient in the use and knowledge of PCs (Hardware & Software), word processing, spreadsheet applications, and Microsoft Windows platforms.
  • Must be able to read electrical prints, P&ID's, and understand P&ID control loops.
  • Extensive industrial electrical experience involving utility systems, with a strong knowledge of steam generation systems, air compressors, chillers, potable water systems, Building Automation Systems, waste water systems and HVAC systems.
  • Must have experience documenting maintenance and repair activities.
  • Must be able to function in a team-based empowered culture.
  • Must possess the ability to work independently and effectively with peers, and display strong interpersonal and organizational skill.
  • The ability to work overtime that includes weekend, holiday, evening and nights.
