Job summary

Intermountain Health seeks a Tech Lead Software Engineer to drive architecture decisions and oversee the full software development lifecycle for critical production systems. The role emphasizes collaboration with security, DevOps, and business teams in a cloud-first environment.

Responsibilities include mentoring staff, guiding design reviews, and ensuring scalable, secure code across front-end and back-end technologies.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in leading architecture and design discussions, making technical decisions, and providing guidance to development teams.
• Formal engineering certification on one or more cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) to support our cloud first engineering strategy.
• Experience in advocating for the adoption of new technologies and practice.
• Experience being the point person that coordinates with Security, Dev Ops, Business Operations and other stakeholders to ensure technical requirements for project delivery are met.

Responsibilities

• Develop 'best-in-class' engineering solutions with modular, secure and reusable components across full-stack development.
• Follow secure coding practices and stay informed about vulnerabilities and threats.
• Work in an agile team and participate in sprint ceremonies; apply Agile/Scrum principles.
• Maintain passion for learning and continuous improvement; stay updated on new technologies and mentor others.
• Analyze complex technical problems and devise efficient solutions using programming languages and data structures.
• Communicate architecture and design decisions clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Mentor and coach engineers on best practices and promote adoption of new technologies.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure high-quality codebase.
• Manage technical aspects of projects, architecture decisions, and production issue resolution.
