Job summary

National Life Group in Montpelier, VT seeks a Tech Lead, Application Development – Product & Inforce Systems to guide technology solutions across product, inforce, illustration, policy administration, and related platforms.

The role requires extensive Life & Annuity insurance knowledge, strong judgment in evolving situations, and a track record of applying expertise to cross-system problems. Onsite four days per week with core days Mon-Thu, visa sponsorship not offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Business, Finance, or related field with 8+ years of experience; advanced degree with 5+ years; or 12+ years total experience.
• Extensive experience in Life & Annuity insurance, financial services tech, product/illustration/policy systems.
• Strong analytical thinking, communication, and stakeholder-management skills; able to mentor juniors.

Responsibilities

• Lead IT application development for Life & Annuity and Inforce environments.
• Analyze complex needs and translate into requirements, tests, and implementation plans.
• Establish methods for new or non-routine assignments.
• Own analysis and delivery from discovery to post-production support.
• Advise stakeholders on capabilities, risks, and options.
• Mentor junior analysts and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
