Job summary

Zions Bancorporation is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Integrations Platform to lead a dynamic engineering team. The role blends leadership with hands-on contribution across backend, frontend, APIs, and integrations, ensuring secure, scalable solutions aligned to business goals.

You will own technology vision, drive modern delivery practices, and mentor engineers. This is an in-office role at the Zions Technology Center in Midvale, UT, with a focus on delivering enterprise-grade

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• 6+ years of engineering leadership experience.
• Experience with backend architectures (Java, Python, or Node.js).
• Experience with frontend interfaces (React).
• Experience designing and securing REST/SOAP services and system integrations.
• Cloud deployments (Azure, AWS, GCP) with Kubernetes and IaC (Terraform).
• Advanced DevOps experience with automated security scanning and CI/CD.
• Experience leading teams using code-assist tools to boost productivity.
• Strong ability to present to senior IT and business execs.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the engineering team and support professional development.
• Oversee design, development, and implementation of enterprise initiatives including full-stack apps, UI, APIs, and integrations.
• Contribute technically as a player-coach in codebases, designs, and code reviews.
• Maintain a clear technology vision with documented architectures and debt reduction roadmaps.
• Drive modern delivery practices with CI/CD, automated testing, and DevSecOps controls.
• Foster psychological safety, ownership, and cross-training to mitigate SPOFs.
• Ensure safety, security, and compliance with internal policies and banking regulations.
• Create and manage department budgets and hiring/performance processes.
• Other duties as assigned.
