Job summary

Point of Rental Software is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the WinForms-to-web modernization. You will own architecture decisions, build full-stack systems from Angular front-ends to C#/.NET services and SQL Server, and improve a large legacy codebase while mentoring teammates.

You will work with AI coding tools daily, set standards for their use, and partner with product to translate business problems into concrete technical plans.

Qualifications

• 8+ years as a professional software engineer.
• 5+ years with C#/.NET, building production applications.
• 5+ years building production applications in a component-based SPA framework (Angular strongly preferred).
• 5+ years with SQL Server or another major RDBMS, including complex SQL by hand.
• Track record of setting technical direction that others follow.
• Comfort with large legacy code and safe modification.
• Fluent use of AI coding assistants as part of real workflow.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical direction of WinForms-to-web modernization: decide what gets rewritten, wrapped, or left alone and in what order.
• Build and ship full stack: Angular front ends through C#/.NET services to SQL Server; hands-on role.
• Work in large legacy codebases to improve quality and safety.
• Use AI coding tools daily and set team standards for their use.
• Design and hand-write complex SQL for enterprise-scale features.
• Mentor engineers through design reviews, pairing, and guidance.
• Collaborate with Product to convert business problems into technical plans.
