Job summary

Pacer Group is seeking an experienced Linux/Unix Infrastructure SME to provide top-tier technical leadership within the Core Compute Infrastructure team. You will address critical stability, scalability, and major incidents across large-scale Linux environments, guiding engineering efforts and incident response.

The role emphasizes Terraform IaC, advanced OS/kernel troubleshooting, and proactive automation to reduce toil while ensuring system availability and compliance.

Qualifications

• Must have Terraform & Infrastructure as Code with advanced troubleshooting and kernel management experience.
• Strong background in Linux/Unix administration for large-scale environments.
• L3 subject-matter-expert leadership in critical incident management.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the highest level technical escalation point (L3 SME) for Linux/Unix infrastructure and lead resolution of critical incidents.
• Manage and support large-scale Linux environments (RHEL, Oracle Linux, CentOS, SUSE) including patching, upgrades, and remediation.
• Develop automation and IaC practices using Terraform to reduce toil and improve provisioning.
• Review and approve changes to compute infrastructure and drive continuous service improvement.
• Perform capacity planning, resource optimization, and implement proactive monitoring and self-healing mechanisms.
