Job summary

New York Technology Partners is seeking an experienced Linux infrastructure engineer to join a hybrid Hartford, CT environment. You will serve as a Level 3 SME for Linux/Unix, managing multiple Linux distributions and ensuring high availability, performance, and compliance.

The role emphasizes incident resolution, patching, lifecycle management, automation, and IaC with Terraform. You will contribute to capacity planning, monitoring, and self-healing initiatives while reducing toil through

Qualifications

• Experience with Linux system administration and multi-distro environments (RHEL, Oracle Linux, CentOS, SUSE).
• Proficient in shell scripting and automation to reduce toil.

Responsibilities

• Serve as L3 SME for Linux/Unix infrastructure.
• Manage and support large-scale RHEL/Oracle Linux/CentOS/SUSE/Unix environments.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting of OS, kernel, filesystem, storage, networking, and performance issues.
• Lead OS patching, upgrades, vulnerability remediation, and lifecycle management.
• Ensure system availability, stability, and operational compliance.
• Lead resolution of critical incidents and major outages.
• Perform RCA and implement preventive measures.
• Review and approve changes related to compute infrastructure.
• Conduct capacity planning and resource optimization.
• Analyze system utilization, bottlenecks, and trends.
• Implement proactive monitoring and self-healing mechanisms.
• Drive toil reduction through automation and operational innovation.
• Develop and maintain shell scripting and automation solutions.
• Automate provisioning, patching, compliance checks, and operational tasks.
• Contribute to Infrastructure as Code practices using Terraform.
