Job summary

OnTrac seeks a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to lead automation from manual processes to scalable, code-driven infrastructure. You will shape Terraform standards, drive CI/CD for infra, and partner with developers to build resilient cloud foundations on GCP and Kubernetes.

You will mentor teams on IaC best practices, manage security guardrails, and balance container vs VM strategies to meet evolving workloads. This is an opportunity to impact a fast-growing logistics tech leader.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Cloud Infrastructure & Systems Engineering, with primary expertise in Terraform and IaC Architecture.
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud (GCP): Shared VPCs, IAM hierarchies, Cloud SQL via IaC.
• Proven experience building automated IaC pipelines in Azure DevOps (plan/apply, drift detection, policy enforcement).
• Proficiency with Ansible for configuration management to complement Terraform provisioning.
• Strong understanding of containerization/orchestration (GKE/Kubernetes vs. VMs).
• Strong Linux admin skills and CLI foundation for infrastructure debugging.

Responsibilities

• Own and modernize the global Terraform ecosystem with modular libraries and drift-free configurations.
• Build robust Azure DevOps pipelines for infrastructure releases with automated tests and PR checks.
• Design resilient GCP foundations (networking, IAM, databases) defined entirely by code.
• Establish IaC governance: code reviews, module docs, and best-practice guidance for developers.
• Help plan workloads between containers, managed services, and VMs based on workload needs.
• Collaborate across teams to define health, observability, and reliability standards and participate in on-call rotation.
