Job summary

Cisco in Boulder, CO is seeking a leader for Traffic Engineering Infrastructure to shape how thousands of customers connect to Splunk Cloud on our platform. You’ll direct architecture, build vs. buy decisions, and drive self-service provisioning. You’ll guide large-scale Go/Python systems and mentor engineers across levels.

Key experience includes Terraform IaC, cloud networking (AWS/GCP/Azure), and strong leadership. This role expects on-call participation and cross-team influence.

Qualifications

• Bachelors + 8 years of related experience or equivalent advanced degree.
• Experience building and operating large-scale production systems in Go and/or Python.
• Experience with Layer 3/4 networking and cloud networking (AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Infrastructure as code with Terraform at scale and CI/CD with safe promotion to production.
• Experience leading major technical initiatives and influencing engineering direction.

Responsibilities

• Set long-term technical direction for our connectivity platform from architecture to build vs. buy decisions.
• Write services, APIs, and IaC provisioning for VPCs, VNETs, load balancers, private endpoints, and transit.
• Lead major initiatives like self-service provisioning and scalable network architecture.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews, design feedback, and coaching; participate in on-call rotation.
