Job summary

Guardian Life is seeking a Tech Lead to serve as a hands-on technical leader within its Digital & Technology organization. The role focuses on guiding engineers to build secure, scalable solutions that meet Guardian’s architectural standards.

You will mentor engineers, design robust software using microservices, React/Next.js, and cloud platforms, and oversee the full SDLC while collaborating with Product D&T leadership to translate business goals into technical execution.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in software development with leadership experience.
• 3–5 years of API development using C#, .NET Core, and front-end with React/Next.js.
• Strong .NET/C# expertise on backend with async programming and memory management.
• Proficiency in React/Next.js, JavaScript, HTML5, and responsive CSS.
• Experience with REST, WCF or SOAP, and web API development.
• 5+ years of SQL database experience.
• Experience with cloud, CI/CD, Docker, ECS, and EKS.
• Source control with GitHub/Bitbucket and collaboration across teams.
• Knowledge of release/build/configuration management and agile methodologies.
• Security-focused development and ability to resolve code smells/vulnerabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of software engineers to foster a high-performing environment.
• Architect, design, and develop robust, scalable, and secure applications using modern practices.
• Oversee full SDLC from requirements to deployment and maintenance.
• Design and implement microservices architecture for modular systems.
• Utilize cloud platforms to deploy scalable applications.
• Develop and deploy eSuite portals and APIs using React/Next.js.
• Conduct thorough debugging and testing to resolve issues.
• Manage repositories and collaborate via version control.
• Integrate systems and platforms through web services integration.
• Collaborate with business partners and stakeholders to translate outcomes into tech execution.
