Job summary

Toyota Financial Services (TFS) is seeking a seasoned Tech Lead VPP in Plano, TX to drive critical systems in a fast-paced Agile environment. You will design, build, and mentor teams delivering scalable, cloud-native services using Java, Spring Boot, and modern DevOps practices.

Lead architecture decisions, collaborate with enterprise architects and product teams, and own key components to ensure performance, reliability, and maintainability across distributed systems.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software development experience.
• Experience with Java, Spring Boot, NodeJS, REST APIs and real-time streaming architectures.
• Proven cloud-native apps on AWS or similar platforms.
• Familiarity with DDD and event-driven architectures.
• Strong microservices and REST API background.
• CI/CD pipelines, DevOps tooling, version control.

Responsibilities

• Shape direction of critical systems and translate designs into scalable solutions.
• Collaborate with enterprise architects and stakeholders in Agile environments.
• Build core features, mentor engineers, and influence architecture.
• Design and develop scalable applications using Java, Spring Boot, and cloud-native technologies.
• Implement architecture with enterprise architects and contribute to development efforts.
• Work with stakeholders to align technical solutions with business priorities.
• Provide engineering judgment to clarify ambiguous requirements.
• Own components, drive performance, reliability, and maintainability.
• Mentor junior engineers and raise team standards via code reviews.
