Job summary

Harvard University is seeking an IT Project Technical Lead to advance the Collections Explorer and related Reimagining Discovery initiatives. This role provides hands-on technical leadership for architecture, design decisions, and production readiness across modern web applications, metadata pipelines, and AI-powered discovery features.

The IT Project Tech Lead will guide implementation, ensure code quality, and collaborate with both technical and non-technical teams while upholding security,

Qualifications

Minimum of seven years post‑secondary education or relevant work experience.
Strong experience with ML/AI technologies and data processing.
Experience with API-oriented application development and search technologies.
Familiarity with secure software development practices and accessibility standards WCAG 2.1 AA.

Responsibilities

Architect and design technical solutions and ensure quality and standards.
Stay informed on AI advances to guide project direction.
Lead decisions on search, APIs, metadata, and AI-enabled features.
Estimate and plan work, break down tasks, and schedule.
Review code to ensure quality and architecture alignment.
Ensure production readiness: reliability, monitoring, and maintenance.
