Job summary

Sierra Medical Center, part of Northern Nevada Health System, is seeking an Interventional Radiologic Technologist. The role supports highly specialized interventional and therapeutic radiology procedures, participates in case scrubbing, and adheres to radiation safety standards for patient care.

Eligible candidates will have ARRT/CRT credentials and be able to participate in on-call scheduling, with a focus on delivering high-quality clinical care in a busy interventional suite.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Three years of Interventional Radiology (Special Procedures) or Cath Lab experience preferred.
• Ability to participate in an on-call schedule for interventional procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provides care appropriate to the patient’s condition and age (pediatric to geriatric).
• Interacts professionally with patient and family, treating with respect and dignity.
• Stays current with technology and techniques through CE, seminars, conferences and journals.
• Operates x-ray equipment with radiation safety and image handling.

Job summary:

The Interventional Radiologic Technologist is an experienced, fully competent technologist with specialized training and knowledge of interventional radiology procedures directly related to the Interventional Radiology Service Line. Responsible for assisting physicians with highly specialized and complex interventional and therapeutic radiologic procedures including but not limited to: angiograms with angioplasty, stenting, thrombolysis; biliary tract obstruction/cancer management; biopsy; chemoembolization and radioembolization; dialysis access and management of AV fistula and grafts; DVT/PE treatment (thrombectomy, thrombolysis); embolization (uterine fibroid embolization, varicocele, prostate, pelvic congestion syndrome); IVC Filter placement and removal; Transjugular intrahepatic portosystematic shunt (TIPS) procedure for treatment of ascites and variceal bleeding; treatment of aneurysms and pseudoaneurysms; urinary tract obstruction/stone management (nephrostomy tubes and nephroureteral stents); vascular access (port-a-cath, PICC, and long-term venous catheter placement); vertebral augmentation for compression fractures (kyphoplasty, vertebroplasty). A member of the direct patient care team, actively participates and scrubs into interventional radiology cases to assist with the movement and alignment of equipment as well as the control of radiation throughout procedures. Works independently exercising sound judgment and executing above average clinical skills on challenging diagnostic procedures and patient care situations. Delivers exceptional patient care and adheres to radiation standards and guidelines established by radiology agencies to ensure optimal patient safety and customer service. This job requires availability to be on call

Qualifications

Licensure Requirements:

• Current Nevada Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) and
• Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT).
• ARRT-VI - Radiologic Technologist - Vascular Interventional Radiography (ARRT) - preferred
• RCIS - Registered Cardiovasculoar Invasive Specialist (CCI) - preferred
• Current ACLS
• Current BLS with ACLS within 6 Months
