Leading international law firm seeks a pragmatic Business Development Manager to support its Technology Industry Group across California. You will work with senior attorneys and the California Steering Committee to shape growth strategy in AI, data centers, and quantum computing, and expand the technology client base.

The role emphasizes collaboration with partners, market analysis, client development, and delivering compelling pitches and materials to win new and existing business in California.

Qualifications

• At least five years of business development or marketing experience within professional services.
• Prior law firm experience is strongly preferred.
• Solid understanding of the California technology landscape.
• Experience collaborating with senior stakeholders on planning and client development.
• Excellent writing, communication and project-management skills.
• Proactive, commercial and results-focused mindset.

Responsibilities

• Work with attorneys on business planning and growth strategies.
• Identify technology-sector trends, emerging markets and new revenue opportunities.
• Develop new business from existing clients and prospective relationships.
• Lead pitches, RFP responses and client-facing materials.
• Conduct market and competitor analysis to inform decisions.
• Support cross-practice and key-client initiatives.
• Track pipelines, pitch outcomes and ROI.
• Support California Steering Committee with strategic and operational projects.
• Develop thought leadership, events and external positioning initiatives.
