Job summary

Nalley Consulting seeks a Technical Editor to support DIA HQ. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree with 3 years of relevant experience or 7 years in the IC, TS/SCI with active CI poly or willingness to poly, and strong editing skills.

The editor will review intelligence products for grammar, style, and accuracy, ensure proper classifications, and collaborate with authors to improve narrative flow while adhering to publication standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of relevant experience or 7 years of relevant experience.
• Experience as a writer, editor, or intelligence analyst in an IC organization.
• Knowledge of the intelligence community.
• Ability to proofread, edit, and ensure accuracy and style.

Responsibilities

• Review intelligence products for grammar, punctuation, and syntax.
• Ensure language conforms to agency publication standards and style guides.
• Amend draft tables, tone boxes, and graphics to align with the text.
• Ensure proper classification markings per IC guidance.
• Collaborate with authors to revise for narrative coherence.

Required education / experience:Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of relevant experience or 7 years of relevant experience.
Required clearance: TS/SCI with active CI poly or willingness to take CI poly.
Basic Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience as a writer, editor, or intelligence analyst in an IC organization
• Knowledge of the intelligence community
• Ability to proofread, edit, and correct text for style and accuracy
• Experience in producing all-source intelligence analysis and managing the production of analysis products.

Position Description:

• Reviews intelligence products for proper grammar, punctuation, and syntax, as well as for logic, clarity, and consistency.
• Ensures that style and format conform to agency publication standards and that language presentation is consistent with prescribed style guides and specialized vocabulary of subject matter fields.
• Amends draft tables, tone boxes, and graphics to ensure the content supports and is consistent with the accompanying text.
• Ensures proper classification markings in accordance with IC guidance.
• Works with authors to revise products for narrative organization, and negotiates further revisions as needed.
