Job summary

Midrex Technologies Inc is seeking a Technology Development Engineer to support research, innovation, and IP activities. The role blends R&D analysis with invention-disclosure work, requiring strong thermodynamics, heat and mass transfer, and reaction engineering skills.

Collaboration with R&D, process engineering, and legal teams is essential. Minimum 5 years of applied engineering experience in industrial process technology with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical Engineering

Qualifications

• Strong chemical engineering fundamentals including thermodynamics, heat and mass transfer, reaction engineering, and material balances.
• Applied engineering experience in industrial processes, manufacturing, operations, or R&D with ability to interpret data and test results.
• Ability to use structured innovation methods to define problems, generate concepts, and advance initiatives.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills across engineering, legal, and business teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to Innovation Team and IP Committee and understand Midrex process technologies.
• Apply engineering fundamentals to analyze process performance, data, and new technology concepts.
• Assess feasibility, risk, and readiness for R&D and technology development activities.
• Use innovation methods to define problems, ideate, evaluate alternatives, and advance concepts.
• Coordinate with engineers, scientists, and IP counsel to prepare invention disclosures and support patent filings.
• Maintain IP database and assist with patent tracking, filings, and deadlines.
